"I received a quote that lowered my insurance so I switched my auto and my homeowners. After I switched my insurance, signed sealed and paid in full for 6 months, they raised my auto insurance rate by approximately $270. Approximately a month later. The auto rate they say I now owe is higher than the previous rate I was paying, which would be ridiculous to switch companies to get a higher rate and the homeowners was also higher but I figured it would even out in the end. Clearly it did not. Now I'm paying more for both. |'m not sure how a company can give you a quote you agree to, give you a price, you sign, you agree to pay said amount (legal documents) you pay in full and then they send you bill saying sorry that's not the amount, here's a bill for more money. They also sent me two checks that you can't cash. The first one I didn't cash I gave it back, I just paid my policy, and it just seemed odd. That's the point where they told me I owed extra money, then why are you sending me a check? Then I received another check a couple months later and I cashed it thinking it was from the fiasco with the other check. Nope now they're telling me I owe that back. Switching was a overall horrible experience. I'm in my mid '50s and I have never had an experience like this with an insurance company. Again, who switches insurance companies to pay more money? Think about that one.
